This is a simple Windows registry tweak which will allow you to change the name of your processor to anything you want. You can either set it to AMD Phenom x30 or to anything else you want like The Gamer Avinesh 6GHz.
To change computer processor name with the help of simple trick, follow the given steps -
Step 1: Open Notepad
Step 2: In the Notepad, paste the following code exactly
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
"ProcessorNameString"="The Gamer Avinesh 6GHz"
Change The Gamer Avinesh 6GHz to whatever the name you want to set. In some computers adding \\00 is not required, if \\00 doesn't works, then from above code remove \\00 .
Step 3: Press Ctrl+S and wait for save-as dialog box appear
Step 4: Name the file as proc.reg and in Save as type option of Save As dialog-box, select All files (*.*)
Step 5: Save the file in C:\
Step 6: Now right click on Desktop and select New -> Shortcut
Step 7: In Type the location of the item:, paste the following code
regedit /S "C:\proc.reg"
Note - Make sure that the file which you saved in Step 5 is present in C drive else above code will not work
Step 8: Press Next button and name the shortcut as proc.exe and click finish, the shortcut will get created on the Desktop
Step 9: Now comes the most important step, this shortcut needs to be saved in Startup folder so that it gets executed automatically everytime the computer starts.
Windows XP user - Copy the shortcut proc.exe which you had created in Step 8 and paste it in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
Windows Vista, 7 and Windows 8 users - First you have to enable the option Show hidden files and folders and then Copy the shortcut created in Step 8 and paste it in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
Replace the USERNAME in above location with your username, which appears at Welcome Screen when computer starts.
Step 10: Restart your computer
That's it! After restarting computer check Properties of Computer and you will observer that old processor name of your computer has got replaced with what you entered in Step 2 above. Now make your friends and family members shout at it!
You can rollback to the original name of your processor by deleting the shortcut from Startup folder
