Recovering an Facebook account is no longer a pain. Facebook this Thursday released it's "Trusted Contacts" feature which will allow a Facebook user to add minimum 3 and maximum 5 friends as trusted contacts, to whom the user can contact in case his account gets compromised.
This feature works in a simple way - When your account gets hacked and you can't recover it from current option then you can contact any of the three(of five) friends which you had added in "Trusted Contacts" list to get three different recovery pins, if you enter these pins on account recovery page, you gonna get back your account.
This feature is present in Account Settings under Security tab with name "Trusted Contacts". If you are unable to locate this feature, you can directly visit this link to enable Trusted Contacts feature of Facebook. All you have to do is to add minimum three or maximum five friends of yours, who, you think can help you in recovering Facebook account when it gets hacked or in any other security issue.
This feature will bring smiles on faces of many 'Facebookers' but before leaving you back in your virtual world, I want to provide you small tip on this Trusted Contacts feature - Though this feature helps in easily recovering account, but remember if any one of the person from your Trusted Contacts list convinces any other two people from the same list to provide him the recovery pin, he will be easily able to get access to your account(with the help of any other two people of the list) without you noticing it. Suppose you add three people A, B and C in this list, after few days A talks with B and C and plans to 'hack' you account, he will be able to do this because he will be able to get total three recovery pins, one of his own, and other two - of B and C.
So add only those people in this Trusted Contacts list who, you believe, will not get influenced by others.
